Online Bachelor of Arts in Journalism

PUBLIC RELATIONS

The University of Memphis, College of Communication and Fine Arts, Journalism department is proud to offer the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Public Relations as an online degree program.

The program teaches students to

  • build awareness and a favorable image for a company or client within stories and articles found in relevant media outlets
  • monitor numerous media channels for public comment about a company and its products
  • manage crises that threaten company or product image
  • build goodwill among an organization's target market through community, philanthropic and special programs and events

You may complete your courses online; no trips to campus are required.  You have the option of choosing on-campus courses if your location allows you to travel to campus.

Our Journalism programs are accredited by The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC). Faculty for the online program are the same as those who instruct our well-regarded on-campus program, and your degree is awarded by The University of Memphis, College of Communication and Fine Arts.  Graduates are encouraged to participate in our University's graduation ceremonies if they wish. 

Online programs are engaging and convenient but they do require high levels of self-discipline and motivation. To ensure a successful online experience, it is essential to have regular, reliable, access to the appropriate computer equipment and a high speed internet connection.
